About 28th Parallel

Though the name 28th Parallel comes from a historical event which occurred over 500 years ago, we feel that it represents one of the most up-to-date, revolutionary human concepts--without individuals willing to take risks, there will be no progress.

Nothing that results from human progress is achieved with unanimous consent...

And those who are enlightened before the others are condemned to pursue that light in spite of others...

-Christopher Columbus

In the years preceeding Christopher Columbus' 1492 voyage to discovery, he faced great challenges. His unwillingness to compromise or accept defeat in his quest ultimately led to his success.

At daybreak on August 3, 1492, the Santa María, Pinta, and Niña left Palos de la Frontera for parts unknown. Christopher Columbus firmly believed the 28th latitudinal line or "parallel" would lead them to the New World.

TwentyEighth Parallel believes that the best way to accomplish great things is to analyze your current position, set your sights on a goal, and pursue it until you reach it.
